[Bathroom Reading] Coach Carroll Releases Statement
Earlier today Head coach Pete Carroll released a statement through the Seahawk's public relations manager.
"There is no need for panic in Seattle after the result last night's game. I want to make perfectly clear now that there is no quarterback controversy to be seen here. Regardless of past events Russell Wilson is and will remain our starting, franchise QB."
He continued on, saying:
"Our entire team, outside of two players - Earl Thomas* and T.Jackson* had a poor outing and once we lost momentum Green Bay was hard to slow down. This isn't all on the players, though. We have to start with the coaching that our players get each week heading into a game. We simply got out coached and out played. It is up to us as coaches to put Russell and the entire team in better situations for success and we didn't do that with our preparation and plat calling. We trust that we will bounce back quickly from this loss and we are looking forward to week 2 versus San Diego."
This statement comes as a response to heavy criticism by Ron Jaworski and Stephen A. Smith at ESPN for the bi-polar like roster changes at halftime in bringing in the 2nd team offense which was then replaced by the starters in the 4th quarter when the game was only an 8 point difference.
