[League] Questions! Empty [League] Questions!

Post by Skrek Mon Aug 25, 2014 6:47 pm

I have some questions heading into the release:

1)  The free agency that determines which teams get first shot at free agents....Where is it?

2)  There's no mention of positional restrictions in the rules. Does that mean everything goes?

3)  Are there any available teams? I've heard chatter about this team or that may be open, but nothing official.

4)  Is this a bid type trade league? I saw one of the trades was deemed acceptable other than the fact that admin thinks one party could get more than was offered. So are we free to effectively bid on that trade now? Can I bid on other trade that have been posted as well?  How long is the bid period? Can I bid on both sides? Who picks the winner? That whole thread confused me.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can come up with at the moment Smile

That was not official. It was merely suggested on my part that it was the likely scenario, it is not officially confirmed what is going on and details of that will be released when they come available. We haven't even gotten the league setup on Madden yet, there is plenty of time to get things organized.

I have absolutely no clue what you think needs to be restricted, but I have said several times to you that we don't need to have a regulation written down to the nit pickiest level for it to be not allowed and punishable. There is no aspect of this league that is 'everything goes' unless you want to say how much of a great guy I am, then keep that coming. Excess of any sort will be punished swiftly and in all likelihood severely whether it is typed out or not, if it goes against the spirit of the league and common decency chances are your head will roll.

There are no teams available to the public at this time. As I said yesterday the details of this should be available sometime tonight. If you can switch, I will let you know when I know.

This is not a bid type trade league whatever that is.

He didn't deem it acceptable except for the fact that the other person could get more for it from what I read, but in the sense you are talking about no you are not free to bid on that trade.

You are however free to offer trades to that person for that player in the most common, typical sense of it.

The trade was posted before the league has even been created so it is by no means official, it isn't even recognized as a deal as far as I (the league) is concerned. Ent is just offering some wisdom prior to it potentially being a trade that would be deemed one way or another in a decision.

No, you can't bid on other trades, but you are free to offer trades to that person for that player in the most common, typical sense of it.

There is no bid period.

No, no you can not?

In all trades Ent will be the decider while I retain the right to step in and veto the decision. It is rare that I would enact that privilege and most trades, at least the ones of some consequence I.E. not a backup punter for backup punter swap, will be internally discussed by the league office anyway rendering the veto power infrequently used and not very much needed.
